Prestigious SMART Scholarship Applications Now Open
The Department of Defense's Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program applications are now open. The SMART program, funded by the Department of Defense, is a combined education and workforce opportunity for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students. SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master's and doctoral students pursuing a degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive:
- Full tuition
- Annual stipend of $30,000 - $46,000
- Book and health allowance
- Summer internships
- Experienced mentorship
- Full-time employment with the DoD after graduation
The application window is open through December.
