Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI)
Enrollment in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) Base Plan is mandatory for all employees who work over 20 hours per week. The Base Plan is a qualified tax-deferred plan under IRS Code Section 401(a).
Employees who work for a PERSI employer and earn 60 months of service credit will become vested. When vested employees retire, they receive a fixed benefit from PERSI for the rest of their lives, even when their personal account contributions are exhausted.
Employees who terminate employment with a PERSI employer before 60 months of service credit will be entitled to receive their contributions back, less taxes.
Employees make mandatory contributions via payroll deduction into a personal account. The district contributes to a pooled trust to cover future benefits for all members.

Certified staff and Bus drivers contribute 8.08%, BCSD contributes 13.48%
