September is Suicide Prevention Month.
The Idaho Crisis & Suicide Hotline is available 24/7 at 988.
Anyone can reach out to 988 when they are overwhelmed, anxious, scared, struggling with relationships, worried about a friend, dealing with a difficult situation, or simply feel like they need someone to talk to. Trained crisis responders are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to listen, provide support, and help anyone figure out what to do next.
And there’s another important update for Idaho youth: A new state law ensures that young people can contact 988 for crisis support without first obtaining parental consent. While this is an important change, the bigger message is simple: when a young person needs support, help is available.
Please help spread the word about 988! Thank you for helping us make sure Idaho students know that they never have to wait until a crisis becomes a suicide crisis to reach out.
