Dear Students, Parents/Guardians, and Community Members,
We continue to prioritize the safety and health of our students, staff, and community members.  Boundary County School District will continue to operate in GREEN with additional measures in place.
The goal of prioritizing safety and health is to continue to have our students in school, providing as much consistency as possible, and offering extra/co-curricular activities.
The following are additional measures going into effect:
• Increasing custodial staff to 10 hours per day to ensure cleaning procedures are being met ;
• Hiring part-time custodial help for Mount Hall and Naples to support the increased cleaning procedures;
• Hiring an additional nurse or CNA to support health education; and
• Requiring students not wearing a mask to provide a doctor’s note by October 7.
The additional support for the learning process will go into effect as soon as possible:
• Movement between remote and in-person learning will be adjusted. Students in remote learning, after the first quarter, may re-enter for in-person instruction at semester. Additionally, students that want to go to remote learning will be able to do so at semester.
• An elementary teacher will become the remote learning teacher and will instruct our students that have requested remote learning.
• Middle school and high school office and teacher support will be hired.
We continue to encourage our students to practice the following, too:
1) Social distance a minimum of 6 feet;
2) Wash your hands often;
3) Cover your coughs and sneezes;
4) Avoid touching your nose, eyes, and mouth;
5) Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces;
6) Stay home when sick;
7) Sleep to rest your mind and body;
8) Eat healthy;
9) Stay hydrated;
10) Limit your social media time;
11) Set academic goals; and
12) Ask questions.
We continue to make very difficult decisions, but we believe in our students, our parents/guardians, and our community. Working together and continuously practicing precautions in and out of school will help us keep our students, parents/guardians, and community healthy and safe. By doing so, we can keep our school doors open, continue the learning process, and maintain our extra/co-curricular activities.
Thank you for your practicing precautions, understanding our priority to maintain safety and health, and providing support to our kids and schools.
