Mrs. Peterson

Kindergarten is all about discovery: discovering that letters have sounds; discovering that ideas can be shared; discovering that learning new things is fun.  The Kindergarten morning is divided into learning chunks.  Circle time provides introduction and practice of the calendar, letters, sight words, numbers, patterns, weather, and phonemic awareness.  Seat work provides practice of letter and number formation, letter sound identification, and fine motor development.  Center time provides the format for self discovery in all of the disciplines including math, science, social studies, art and many more.

The moon

Rocks crash into the moon

and explode.

Dusty!

Full moon and stars

make you see at night.

The moon Looks like a quarter

always up in the sky.

Papery White.

Sometimes I see half.

It softly moves West

and fades away.
